Abstract:
The field experiment was conducted at Durgapura, Jaipur (Rajasthan) for two consecutive years during winter (rabi) seasons 2014-15 and 2015-16 to study the effect of wheat varieties and nutrient management practices on nutrient content, uptake and quality parameters. Twenty four treatment combinations consisted of four varieties viz., PBW 502, Raj 4037, WH 1105 and HD 2967, and six nutrient management practices viz., farmers’ practice, 100% RDF, 100% RDF + Azotobacter + PSB, 75% RDF + Azotobacter + PSB, 75% RDF + Azotobacter + PSB + ZnSO₄ and 50% RDF + 25% N through organic manure + Azotobacter + PSB + ZnSO₄ were tested in factorial RDB design. Hectolitre weight, sedimentation volume, and uptake of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium by grain and straw were higher under variety WH 1105. Further, application of 100% RDF + Azotobacter + PSB gave significantly higher values of protein content, hectolitre weight, sedimentation volume, beta carotene, nutrient content and uptake of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium by grain and straw.
