Abstract:
The field experiment was conducted during Kharif 2019 at Experiment farm of Department of Agronomy, Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Krishi Vidyapeeth, Parbhani. The experiment was laid out in a randomized block design with eight treatments and three replications. The treatments were T1: Control (No any foliar application), T2: B (0.5%), T3: Zn (0.5%), T4: Fe (0.5%), T5: B (0.5%) + Zn (0.5%), T6: B (0.5%) + Fe (0.5%), T7: Zn (0.5%) + Fe (0.5%) and T8: B (0.5%) + Zn (0.5%) + Fe (0.5%). Application of micronutrients in treatment T8 i.e. B (0.5%) + Zn (0.5%) + Fe (0.5%) to niger crop recorded significantly higher values in growth attributes like plant height, number of functional leaves, number of branches, leaf area and total dry matter and followed by the treatment T7 i.e. Zn (0.5%) + Fe (0.5%) at flowering. The lowest values of the above mentioned parameters was recorded with Control (No any foliar application) was applied in (T1). The effect of different treatments on yield and yield attributing characters viz., number of capsule plant-1, weight of capsule plant-1 (g), weight of seed plant-1, number of seed capsule-1, test weight (1000 seeds), grain, straw, biological yields (kg ha-1) and harvest index were considerably higher with the application of B (0.5%) + Zn (0.5%) + Fe (0.5%) at flowering and capitula formation (T8) followed by the application of Zn (0.5%) + Fe (0.5%) at flowering (T7) and the lowest values of the above mentioned parameters was recorded with Control (No any foliar application) was applied in (T1). On the basis of above findings, it may be inferred that, for getting maximum seed yield application of B (0.5%) + Zn (0.5%) + Fe (0.5%) at flowering and capitula formation was found to be effective in increasing production of niger crop.
