A study of relationship between good governance level and political empowerment of women

Abstract:
Women in politics have been a matter of concern since ages. There is significant role of good governance in moving towards a gender neutral society in which women can play a significant role in politics as in other walks of life. Hence, this study was aimed to make in-depth understanding of effect of good governance level on political empowerment of women. Random Sampling Technique was used to collect data from one hundred twenty female households of Muzaffarpur District of Bihar for the purpose of the study. Personal Interview Schedule and Probing methods were used to collect and infer relevant data concerning the study. The result of the study revealed that good governance level is positively correlated with the political empowerment of women at 1% level with Pearson correlation value (r) of. 445, Kendall correlation value (τ) of.256 and Spearman correlation value (ρ) of.338 respectively. Hence, it could be concluded from the study that a good governance leads to political empowerment of women in a significant manner.
