Abstract:Current global markets and companies are focusing on and trying to explore their productivity in terms of sustainable biodegradable packaging materials, implementing flexible and standardized technology to fabricate packaging materials due to increasing consumer demand. In this mini-review, we look into the state of the art in the packaging industry in light of recent advancements in the field of smart fabrication technology including solvent casting, spin coating, dip coating, electrospinning technique, phase immersion, melt and blown extrusion, how the techniques are correlates with fabrication conditions, physio-mechanical properties and also their positive and negative impact on the film properties and their improvements for food packaging. The following and related topics are shortly reviewed and presented in the correct order.
