Abstract:
Albizia lebbeck (L.) is a leguminous plant belonging to the family Fabaceae, has number of therapeutic properties. The purpose of this study was to assess the herbicidal activity of Albizia lebbeck (L.) Benth. seed chloroform oleoresin. The oleoresin exhibited significantherbicidal action against the R. raphanistrum seeds. GC-MS analysis revealed thirty-five constituents, accounting for 80.21% of the overall oleoresin composition. The major constituents identified were n-Hexadecanoic acid (7.06%), Hentriacontane (5.46%), and Triacontane (5.56%). These findings provide valuable insights on the potential applications of Albizia lebbeck(L.) Benth. oleoresin in the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical industries.
