Abstract:
The study, titled "Varietal Preference of Mango Leaf Hoppers and its management through Biopesticides," was carried out at the Horticultural mango farm located in B.T.C. College of Agriculture and Research Station, Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, from November 2020 to May 2021.
Five different mango varieties, namely Langra, Amrapali, Himsagar, Sunderja, and Alphonso, were assessed to determine their susceptibility to mango leaf hoppers. Among these varieties, the lowest average leaf hopper count was observed in the Sunderja variety (0.73 hoppers per panicle), followed by Himsagar (1.23 hoppers per panicle) and Langra (2.60 hoppers per panicle). In contrast, the highest leaf hopper population was found in the Alphonso variety (3.24 hoppers per panicle), closely followed by Amrapali (3.12 hoppers per panicle).
