Evaluation of antihyperlipidemic activity of Cucumis pubescens Willd. On atherogenic diet induced hyperlipidemia in rats

Abstract:
In atherogenic diet induced hyperlipidemic model the rat reciving treatment with aqueous, ethanol ans chloroform extracts of fruits of Cucumis pubescens Willd. Showed significant reduction in total cholesterol, triglycerides, LDL, VLDL and elevation in high density lipoprotein cholesterol. The ethanol extract at 400mg/kg. b. wt concentration is an excellent lipid lowering agent.
