Abstract:
In the present study, soybean germplasms were screened against charcoal rot of soybean under sick pot condition under Kharif 2015 and 2016. In first season, 24 entities were moderately resistant with disease incidence 1.1 to 10% and in second season 46 soybean germplasm behaved as moderately resistant (1.1 to 10% mortality). The charcoal rot fungus (Macrophomina phaseolina) soil borne and has a wide host range. Practically management of charcoal rot is very difficult until new resistant sources not found.
