Abstract:
Field experiment entitled “Efficacy of Newer Insecticides against Mango Hopper Amritodus atkinsoni. Leth.’’ was conducted during 2018-19 with twelve treatments, replicated thrice, in the farm of Horticulture section, NARP, Shenda Park, Kolhapur, (Maharashtra) with the objective to study the efficacy of newer insecticides against mango hopper. The treatments comprised of imidacloprid 17.8SL, emamectin benzoate 5% SG, buprofezin 25% SC, beta-cyfluthrin 8.49% + imidacloprid 19.81% 25EC, spinosad 45 SC, thiamethoxam 25 WG, flonicamid 50 WG, azadirachtin 1000 ppm, thiamethoxam 0.27% + chlorantraniliprole 25%, deltamethrin 0.72% + buprofezin 5.65% EC, Metarhizium anisopliae 1.15 WP and untreated control, respectively. All the insecticidal treatments found superior over untreated control for management of mango hopper. The treatment with imidacloprid 17.8 SL found most superior for the management of mango hopper and the efficacy of newer insecticides for the management of mango hopper was as follows thiamethoxam 25 WG, spinosad 45 SC, beta-cyfluthrin 8.49% + imidacloprid 19.81%, flonicamid 50 WG, thiamethoxam 0.27% + chlorantraniliprole 25%, emamectin benzoate 5% SG, deltamethrin 0.72% + buprofezin 5.65% EC, buprofezin 25% SC, azadirachtin 1000 ppm and Metarhizium anisopliae, respectively.
