Abstract:
The present investigation was conducted with an aim to determine the effect of organic manures and boron application on available nutrient status of soil. The experiment was lay out in factorial randomized block design with three sources of organic manures and two methods of application of boron with four levels of boron replicated thrice at experimental field, Division of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry, SKUAST-Jammu, Chatha during rabi season in the consecutive years 2018-19 and 2019-20. Three sources of organic manures viz., OM0 (control), OM2 (10 t ha-1 FYM), OM3 (5 t ha-1 FYM + VC 2.5 t ha-1) with four levels of boron i.e. B1 (control), B2 (soil application 5 kg borax ha-1), B3 (soil application 10 kg borax ha-1), B4 (foliar spray 0.1% boric acid solution) and B5 (foliar spray 0.2% boric acid solution). Results revealed that the significantly higher available nitrogen (243.02 kg ha-1, 245.55 kg ha-1 and 244.29 kg ha-1) and available phosphorus 14.95 kg ha-1 and 15.99 kg ha-1 were observed under OM3 (FYM 5 t ha-1 + VC 2.5 t ha-1) during 2018-19 and 2019-20, respectively and even the same trend was noticed in two year of pooled data. Further, the highest available potassium 120.51 kg ha-1 and 121.70 kg ha-1 was observed under OM3 (FYM 5 t ha-1 + VC 2.5 t ha-1) during both the years (2018-19 and 2019-20) and also in pooled data. The highest interaction value of available boron at harvest of mustard 0.53 mg kg-1 was found under OM3 (FYM 5 t ha-1 + VC 2.5 t ha-1) along with BS-10 (Soil application 10 Kg Borax ha-1) during 2018-19 and 0.75 mg kg-1 during 2019-20 and 0.64 mg kg-1 in pooled data which were significantly higher as compare to control and other application of organic manures and boron application.
