Abstract:
A field experiment was conducted during kharif season of 2020 at Research Farm, College of Agriculture, Central Agricultural University, Imphal to study the influence of planting geometry and nutrient management on growth, nodulation and yield of dwarf ricebean under rainfed condition. The experiment was laid out in Factorial Randomized Block Design (FRBD) with three replications. Of the three planting geometry treatments, crop sowed at 60 cm x 10 cm (S₃) recorded significantly higher growth attributes viz. plant height, fresh and dry weight of plant and number of branches/plant. Moreover, number of nodules/plant and yield attributes viz. number of pods/plant, number of seeds/pod and plant, seed yield, stover yield were also recorded higher in crop spacing of 60 cm x 10 cm (S₃). Among the nutrient management treatment, treatment (F₃) with application of 60 kg P₂O₅/ha with seed treatment of molybdenum + phosphate solubilizing bacteria (PSB) recorded significantly higher plant height, number of branches and pods/plant, number of nodules/plant, fresh and dry weight of nodules, number of seeds/pod and plant, seed yield, stover yield. Among the twelve treatment combinations, treatment combination (S₃F₃) i.e. 60 cm x 10 cm and 60 kg P₂0₅ /ha with seed treatment of molybdenum + PSB recorded the highest interaction values in terms of growth attributes, nodulations and yield attributes.
