Characterization, potential application and limitation of medicinal herbs in COVID-19: A review

Abstract:
The Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome-related Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) or novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infection has been declared a world pandemic, resulting in a concerning number of deaths, particularly among vulnerable individuals. Despite the fact that a number of therapeutic compounds are being investigated, no effective vaccinations or treatments have been created. Since the COVID-19 outbreak, a variety of traditional herbal medicines have been used to treat and to block the tramission rate we have found that some of the bioactive compounds like Berberine, Mangoflorine, Tinocordiside from giloy, Withaferin (WFA), Withanone, Withanoside from Ashwagantha, Carvacovl, thymol from thyme and Gedunin, Methyl eugenol, Oleanolic acid, Epoxyazadiradione and ursolic from tulsi and neem are effective in controlling the COVID-19.
