Abstract:The efficacy of the different insecticides and bio-rationals were evaluated on mango leafhoppers. The total ten treatments were selected including biorationals, which were Pymetrozine 50 WG 0.6 g, Thiamethoxam 25 WG 2 g, Dinotefuran 20 SG 0.2 g, Flonicamid 50 WG 0.4 g, Tolfenpyrad 15 EC 1.5 ml, Lecanicillium lecani 1x108 cfu/1 g, Beauveria bassiana 1 x 108m cfu / 2 g, Azadirachtin 1500 ppm 2 ml, Lambda cyhalothrin 5 EC 0.5 ml and Untreated check. In the year 2015-16 overall per cent reduction of the leafhoppers was more in tolfenpyrad 15 EC (92.34%), followed by flonicamide 50 WG (89.84%), dinotefuran 20 SG (88.30%) and other treatments. The least was recorded in azadirachtin (70.91%), followed by B. bassiana (69.15%) and L. lecanii (69.10%). Similarly, during 2016-17, higher leafhoppers reduction was observed in treatments with tolfenpyrad 15 EC (91.48%), followed by flonicamid 50 WG (91.08%) and dinotefuran 20SG (88.25%). Lowest per cent reduction of leafhoppers was observed in B. bassiana (71.50%), followed by L. lecanii (69.94%) and azadirachtin (69.25%). Hence, the insecticide tolfenpyrad 15 EC @ 1.5 ml per litre of water found promising in effective management of mango leafhoppers.
