Development of Guava pest app for decision making among farmers

Abstract:
Guava is one of the major and primary fruits in India, which play vital role in the nation economy. Guava yielding can be disrupted due to desperate diseases, such as anthracnose, algal spot, fruit fly, styler end rot and canker. These defect are usually observed and ascertained by visual perception, thus automated identification is needed to aid farmers. Plant diseases can account ample shortfall in the quality and number of agricultural products. Guava, notorious to be the tropics apple, is one significant fruit cultivated in tropical regions. It is assailed by 177 pathogens, including 167 fungal and others such as bacterial, algal, and nematodes. In addition, post-harvest diseases may cause decisive loss in production. With minor modifications in assorted guava disease prognostics, an expert suggestion is needed for disease analysis. Improper interpretation may lead economic losses to farmers due to improper use of pesticides. Automatic detection of diseases in plants once they emerge on the plants leaves and fruit is required to maintain high crop fields. The concentration in this paper on guava disease, so the designed expert guava system aims to help farmers and people interested in guava development to learn about guava diseases to enable them to find and treat the right treatment of the disease. The Guava system calls on farmers or users to observe the symptoms that they see at the guava plant so that the expert system can identify the disease and give the user some information that may help farmers grow guavas.
